The effect of the recession has been an increase in the sale of pulses in Spain, for the first time in 50 years.
Sane, tasty and rich in protein and fibre, they are not fattening and are very cheap. Sales for this year so far up 10% on last year when an average of 4.2 kilos per person were eaten over the 12 months, less than half the amount of the 60’s and 70’s.
So good news for the health system as well....!
