Jerez de la Frontera: The closest of the
airports to Sanlucar de Barrameda, with a 20 - 30 minute
drive from the airport to Sanlucar. This will be
reduced with the opening of a new bypass around Jerez connecting
up with the duel carriageway from Jerez to Sanlucar and ending
a few kilometres short of Sanlucar.
Jerez
airport bus service connects you to the centre of Jerez
and Cadiz. You will also find many taxis waiting outside the
airport, please check the pricing board in the luggage collection
area for prices. Many car hire companies operate from the
Jerez airport. Flights to Jerez are operated by Ryanair, British
Airways, Iberia, Spanair, Monarch, Clickair, Helvetic and
many airlines from German cities which include Air Berlin
who operate a service from Stansted.
Seville: Seville
airport is located about 10 Kilometres north east of the city,
on the A4 (was NIV) motorway, within easy reach of Sanlucar
de Barrameda. The airport at Seville has a town centre bus
service, linking to the bus
stations and train station.
Many of the major airlines operate services to Seville, as
do Ryanair from London Stansted. |

Gibraltar: May
seem an odd place to fly to, but with the opening of a new
motorway
between Los Barrios and Jerez de La Frontera the journey
can take less than 1 hour 30 minutes to Sanlucar de Barrameda.
With flights to Gibraltar now being opened from other countries
and in-land Spain you may well see flights
from your nearest airport opening. Currently flights operate
from the UK and Madrid.
On leaving the airport follow signs for Algeciras and San
Roque on the N351. Join E15 - A7 towards Algerciras and Cadiz.
Take exit 110 onto
A381 towards Los Barrios and Jerez de la Frontera, then follow signs
for Sanlucar and the A480 (see detailed instructions
below from point 5)
Malaga: Which is served by most airlines
and airports in the UK and other European airports. There
are two roads you can take from Malaga for a quicker journey,
we recommend the toll road.
From Malaga airport follow the only exit road. After the
roundabout you will see the huge facilities of the 'San Miguel'
brewery on your right.
Take the left lane across the flyover (overpass) for Malaga,
Nerja, Antequera, all point East, following the signs to
the N340 (also called the AP7) coast road. If you're going
to Nerja, Antequera, or Granada, take the exit for the
Ronda de Malaga (Malaga
Ring Road), connecting back to the N340.
Take the right lane for the Western Costa del Sol and
Ronda. This lane joins the N340 coast road heading West,
to Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola, Calahonda, Marbella,
San Pedro, Ronda, Estepona, Sotogrande, and the Costa de
la Luz. after 12-15
kms the road forks – take the left-hand A7 option.
This is the toll road. Pass Marbella, Estepona and Sotogrande.
At Los Barrios take the new A381 to Jerez de la Frontera. Follow
signs for Sanlucar and the A480 (see detailed instructions
below from point 5) |
