Jerez airport has seen an 11 per cent drop in its number of passengers in the past year. This is the worst performance of any airport in Spain. However PSOE spokesperson in Congress, Mamen Sánchez, stated that neither the airport nor the airport authority AENA could be blamed and the drop in passenger numbers up till August was due to cancellation of services by troubled airlines during the high price of aviation fuel.
Hopefully this can turn around and we can get more airlines flying into Jerez, for more tourists visiting areas of the Costa de la Luz.
