The new railway station at Jerez airport is due to open on September 8th. The project has been serveraly delayed by upto 2 years, concerning problems with the high-speed AVE network project. The whole project has cost some 9 million Euros.
Initially there will only be 3 local train and 1 medium-distance train each day. The trains will leave Cádiz at 6.05 a.m. (an hour later at weekends), 12.10 and 18.10, and will leave Jerez airport at 7.20 a.m., 13.20 and 19.25. It will take between 55 minutes and an hour to travel between Cádiz and the airport, including all the usual stops.
The medium-distance train between Cádiz and Sevilla will also stop at the airport, leaving Cádiz at 15.00 and leaving the airport for Cádiz at 18.03. That journey will take 46 minutes.
The times of trains are not that good for most passengers, who will need to wait several hours for a train.....!!!
